Forgiveness
Eileen Mattman
Run your hands
over the smooth finish
of the day.
over the smooth finish
of the day.
Feel the rounded edges,
the glossy surfaces
that reflect the day’s images,
slightly blurred
and indistinct.
the glossy surfaces
that reflect the day’s images,
slightly blurred
and indistinct.
No need to remember
each sharp edge, each
splinter and split corner.
each sharp edge, each
splinter and split corner.
Sand it down and
blow the fine dust away.
blow the fine dust away.
