Roger Allen Mosser

Roger Allen Mosser graduated from the University of Minnesota.  He has studied art throughout the United States including San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Chicago, Denver, and Ashville, NC as well abroad in London and Paris.

Writing and art forms have been Roger's passion from childhood. His work has varied from hand-made paper, jewelry casting, photography, welding, watercolor and acrylic painting, and finally to Encaustic Painting (also known as hot wax painting).

Encaustic Painting is a revival of the technique used in Egyptian mummy portraits from 100-400 AD where pigment was applied to a surface (usually prepared board) for the wrapped mummies.  It is a combination of beeswax, pigment and resin.

Currently residing in Palm Desert, CA he revels in creating works that remind him of his childhood, adulthood, and works that reach to the ethereal and ephemeral, yet depict simplicity.

Looking within to see the past
Searching the distance,
daring to understand
Wondering, What if?
Thinking, How?
