The Gardener

Warm earth replete with life
where he sows his seeds.
Each tiny speck cupped in his hand -
delicate and divine.
He carefully places them in rows
as ribbons of worms
tickle at his finger tips from below.
She embodies the soil,
and he is the gardener.
It is here that she creates the
right conditions for him to grow.

Hidden

I keep love in a bottle.
When I unscrew the cap - the fragrance smiles.

Scents collected through the visages of
time release an emotion.

It’s intoxicating, like sunshine,
like warm hugs.

I inhale, incense, sea-salt, sweat.
I close my eyes.

I’m drenched in the fragrance of that moment,
its fullness, taking me back to another time.
