Meteor Shower
Blazing white streaks
between jealous stars every blink a risk we humbly saw these fearless interstellar travellers announce themselves in silence once then never again it was wondrous
it was wondrous it was wondrous but my neck was tired my bones were chilled and when the celestial fireworks were over they were replaced with tea and television ● Steve Denehan © 2018

Blink
I was told
that this part of my life
would be over in the blink of an eye I blink life is still the same I blink again and hold it buildings come crashing down in silence oceans rise up and cover everything I am safe here, in my blink I open my eyes life is still the same ● Steve Denehan © 2018 |
