In the dark house
as I reach what I don’t realize
is the top stair, I lift
my left foot again,
and for a sublime moment

I am falling upward
against all laws of God and man.

I spend my days sifting
through the details,
searching for the devil
that lives amongst them
and the god that hides there too.

Aperture

When I see
a photograph,
I can’t help
but imagine
the rest of the
limitless world
outside the frame.

Insomnia

You sleep,
and tomorrow
finds you
before it
finds me.
