Peg Quinn - Santa Barbara Murals
We came across the poetry of Peg Quinn thru the kind lending of a 2011 copy of Rattle which included her poem, 'When the Buddha Farmed Nebraska'. We asked Peg if she'd be interested in submitting more poems for an Origami micro-chapbook. She said yes. Or rather, 'Yes!' and we were on our way... This poem is in her first OPP collection entitled 'One Lucky Ride.' It's been our happy ride to have Peg along as both poet and visual artist.
From her website:
Peg Quinn is a painter and an award-winning quilter and poet and has been designing and painting murals in homes, offices, schools and institutions for over twenty-five years. Her poetry has twice been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Peg produces murals for interior and exterior surfaces, and her work is on display at the Cachuma Lake Visitor’s Center.
Peg also paints furniture and household objects, often using trompe-l’oeil, or “fool the eye” images (see the crayon, brush and pencil on the chair seat to the left). She illustrates text as well.
Peg holds a BFA in Education from the University of Nebraska and an Elementary Teaching Credential from Cal. State Northridge and currently serves as Art Specialist at a local, private school. She is a published poet, having read locally at various venues. You can enjoy her Origami poetry page here.
