    Michael Dylan Welch specializes in haiku and related poetry, which he has been investigating since 1976, but also writes longer poetry, essays, reviews, and fiction. He served for two years as poet laureate for Redmond, Washington, where he is also president of the Redmond Association of Spokenword and monthly curator, since 2006, of SoulFood Poetry Night. Michael cofounded the Haiku North America conference in 1991, the American Haiku Archives in 1996, and the Seabeck Haiku Getaway in 2008. He is also the founder (in 2000) and president of the Tanka Society of America and founder of National Haiku Writing Month (www.nahaiwrimo.com, 2010).

 

Michael has won first prize in numerous poetry contests and his work has been translated into at least twenty languages. His haiku have been been recited for the Empress of Japan and at the Baseball Hall of Fame, chiseled into stone in New Zealand, and printed on balloons. One of his translations from the Japanese appeared on the back of 150,000,000 U.S. postage stamps in 2012. He was also keynote speaker for the Haiku International Association conference in Tokyo in 2013. His recent books include Jumble Box: Haiku and Senryu from National Haiku Writing Month (2017), Seven Suns / Seven Moons (with Tanya McDonald, 2016), Off the Beaten Track: A Year in Haiku (2016), Fire in the Treetops: Celebrating Twenty-Five Years of Haiku North America (2015), and Becoming a Haiku Poet (2015).    Donald Krieger is a biomedical researcher whose focus is the electric activity within the brain. His hybrid collection, "Discovery," is forthcoming from Cyberwit in July, 2020. He is a 2020 Creative Nonfiction Foundation Science-as-Story Fellow.

 

His work has appeared in Hanging Loose, Neurology, Live Mag!, The Raw Art Review, Seneca Review, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and The Asahi Shimbun, Entropy, Vox Populi Sphere, Dissident Voice, and others, and has appeared in several anthologies in both English and Farsi.

    Trish Hopkinson is a poet, blogger, and advocate for the literary arts. You can find her online at SelfishPoet.com and provisionally in Utah, where she runs the regional poetry group Rock Canyon Poets and folds poems to fill Poemball machines for Provo Poetry. Her poetry has been published in several literary magazines and journals, including Tinderbox, Glass Poetry Press, and The Penn Review.

 

Her third chapbook Footnote was published by Lithic Press in 2017, and her most recent e-chapbook Almost Famous was published by Yavanika Press in 2019.

 

Hopkinson will happily answer to labels such as atheist, feminist, and empty nester; and enjoys traveling, live music, and craft beer.

    Billy Antonio was born in 1975 in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Philippines.

 

He is the author of a mini-chapbook, "In a Country with Two Seasons" (Poems-For-All), an e-chapbook, "exposed wishes" (proletaria, Singapore), two poetry chapbooks, "Losing a Balloon: Haiku and Senryu" (Alien Buddha Press) and "where it was" (Clare Songbirds Publishing House, New York), and a short fiction collection, "Thread and Other Stories" (Alien Buddha Press). 

He was a fellow for fiction at the 44th University of the Philippines National Writers Summer Workshop in Baguio City, Philippines. His short story, The Kite, has been broadcast on 4EB-FM, 98.1, Brisbane, Australia. His poetry has won international recognition including first places in the European Kukai and Shiki Kukai, commendation in the Diogen Spring Tanka Contest and Sharpening the Green Pencil Haiku Contest, and honorable mentions in the Annual Mainichi Haiku Contest and Setouchi Matsuyama International Photo Haiku Contest. He is a Dwarf Stars Award nominee.

Some of his fiction and poetry have been published in journals, magazines (print and online), and anthologies. His Japanese short form poetry have appeared in The Red Moon Anthology of English Language Haiku, The Living Haiku Anthology, The Living Senryu Anthology, The Dwarf Stars Anthology. His haiga have been featured in World Haiku Association Haiga Contest, Haigaonline and Daily Haiga.

He now lives in Laoac, Pangasinan, Philippines with his wife Rowena and his daughters Felicity and Asiel Sophie.

   Mark Fleckenstein was born in Chicago, and grew up in Ohio, Michigan, Connecticut, North Carolina and New Hampshire. I graduated from University of North Carolina in Charlotte with a B.A. in English and after completing my MFA in Writing at Vermont College of Fine Arts, I moved to Massachusetts, and became very involved in the Boston area poetry community. I was an assistant editor for (BLuR), the Boston Literary Review, founder/coordinator of two bi-weekly poetry reading series in Boston and a workshop leader. I’ve given poetry readings with famous poets (Charles Simic, Linda Gregg, Mark Doty, Mark Cox and Carl Phillips) and not so famous poets.
